Leica Sport Optics has announced a brand new, premium model in its iconic laser rangefinder series designed specifically for golfers: the Leica Pinmaster II Pro.
Enabling golfers to measure the precise distance to pins, bunkers and traps, the Leica Pinmaster II Pro ensures that the golfer can select the most appropriate club or iron for the shot. In addition, the integrated Leica First Target Logic technology allows reliable and accurate target detection. This ingenious measuring feature locks on to the first target sighted, preventing potential errors returned from more distant objects, such as trees behind the flagstick.
This new high quality laser rangefinder offers all the benefits of the Pinmaster and Pinmaster II models, but for the first time, also incorporates Angle Compensated Distance Technology (ACDTM). For ultimate precision, this advanced measuring technology employs a specific, steering angle based calculation, in place of standard golf ballistic software. Therefore, with the use of ACD, the Leica Pinmaster II Pro provides the golfer with a measurement relating to the particular golf club in use, as well as the slope of the terrain.
Adding further innovation, the Leica Pinmaster II Pro offers an optical feedback feature with no distracting sound or vibrations: a discreet and simple optical signal appears in the LED display, once the measurement has been recorded.
Premium design and outstanding optical performance
With its distinctive white colour and classic, timeless design, the Leica Pinmaster II Pro features a robust carbon-fibre housing, ensuring ultimate durability, as well as a truly premium appearance. The integrated optical and mechanical systems deliver outstanding vision in adverse weather conditions – guaranteed thanks to Leica’s renowned water-repellent AquaDuraTM lens coating, which ensures that water and dirt simply roll off the lens surfaces.
The Leica Pinmaster II Pro is operated by a single button. When the target is located, the first press of this button activates the rangefinder technology and initiates the measuring process – then on the second press, an accurate distance is calculated via an invisible laser beam that is safe to the human eye.
The distance measured (up to 725 metres) is shown on a high quality LED display projected onto the optical sighting system. This enables easy reading of the measured target distance, even in the most challenging conditions, such as bright sun or snow. Furthermore, the Leica Pinmaster II Pro is the only premium golf rangefinder with a red LED, rather than a black LCD display. Combined with automatic brightness adjustment and no distracting digits in the display, once again, the Leica Pinmaster II Pro sets the standard in rangefinder optics.
The Leica Pinmaster II Pro features 7× magnification and a wide field of view of 115 metres at 1,000 metres. Its eyepiece allows dioptre compensation adjustment, making it an ideal choice for those who wear glasses, while the light, carbon-fibre-reinforced body, weighing just 220g, is designed specifically for outdoor use, and is watertight to a depth of one metre.
This smart new rangefinder comes complete with a case, battery and carrying strap included in the box.
Use of the Leica Pinmaster II Pro is permitted in golf competitions in accordance with the official rules of the R&A and USGA.
